Hand washing Day

As apart of our celebration of the hand washing day we had a workshop about "hand washing". This workshop was done by one of my students. This was the theoretical part. We also had a practical part of how to wash your hand using soap and other detergents. The students enjoyed their time during the workshop as well as the practical part. I attached the power point as well as some pictures for the practical part.

A visit to Al Fawars Mosque and Al S'reema Mosque

Religion plays an important role in our life. Nowadays we notice that people tend to ignore or become less involve in doing their regular worships. In order to encourage students to do their regular worship on time, the school decided to establish school mosque where students can pray and hold Holy Quran recitation cycles. Islamic teachers have an important role in encouraging students by holding workshops inside the mosque. For that reasons we decided to have a visit to some mosques in Barka and Al Sawadi. We took with us some brochures, handouts, prayer rugs and some beads that students brought from their homes. We distributed these things all over the two mosques. We prayed in the mosques. We also took some photos inside the mosque. I asked students to write reports about the visit. I am going to attach some of the students work here as well as some photos.

A visit to Wadi Jasim Nursery

As apart of our plan to plant "The scientific garden" in our school, we arranged for a trip to Wadi Jasim Nursery to buy some plants and trees.  I went there with 7 of my students as well as another two teachers. Students were amazed to see green plants, trees and roses. We give them the chance to give their opinions and choose some of the plants. They were very happy. We took some photos together inside the nursery here are some pictures. I also asked students to write reports about the trip so I will attach some of their work here.

Establishing An English Club

English language is the world most spoken language. That is why I decided to establish an English Club with the help of my students inside our school.

For those who are unfamiliar with the English Club, it is a place for language learners to use English in a casual setting outside regular class teaching. English Clubs can take care of the students’ different developmental needs such as their sense of moral values and attitudes, skills and creativity.

The English Group holds a variety of activities during the year, such as writing competition, games, workshops, crafts, and the open day. Thus students can learn to communicate, to co-operate with other people and in addition to enrich their life experience. They will also gain first-hand experience of programme  planning and leadership, thus enabling themselves to discover and develop their potential.

The establishment of the English Club will help me with my projects. The Club is still under construction.

Trees are very important in our life

As a way to encourgae students to participate in discussing some environmental issues in Oman I started with creating a writing composition among students where students have to express their thoughts and opinions about  a certain topic. I first started with the following topic:

 " Trees are important in our life." Do you agree or disagree? Give your reasons.

Trees are important in our life

No one denies the importance of trees in our life, so I agree with this statement for several reasons.

The first reason is that it gives us oxygen (O2) and takes carbon dioxide (CO2) so it's very important to clean the air that we breathe it. In addition, it's very important because it's a source of food. The second reason is that, the trees give the views a beautiful look. Also, from trees wood we can make furniture such as beds, tables,…etc. In the past, people took medicine from it and still till now. Moreover, we can sit under the shadow of trees when it is sunny and hot. Also, the trees are like home for many animals such as birds, insects and other animals.

Eventually, I advice people to take care of trees because they are really very important.

The first reason is that tree gives us O2 and it takes CO2 from air. The second reason is that it gives us shadow so we can sit under it. The third reason is that it gives us vegetables and fruit. Also, it is a source of food for animals. The fourth reason is that scientists discover medicines from trees. The fifth reason is that we can use wood that we take from trees in making many things for instance tables, chairs and other things. The sixth reason is that many animals take trees as a home for them such as monkeys and birds.

In short, we should protect trees because they are very important in our life.

Trees are important in our life

There are a lot of trees in the world nowadays because of people concern about our planet. People like to plant trees in their houses. The government has done a great job in planting different types of trees all along the roads in Oman. I believe trees are very important in our life for many reasons. But in this paper I am going to talk about only three reasons why trees are very important in our life.

The first reason is trees take carbon dioxide from the air and give us oxygen. People need oxygen to breathe in order to be alive.

The second reason is trees give us food. Trees give us different types of fruit and vegetables. Food is very important for human in order to live and continue their daily routine.

The third reason is trees give us wood. Trees consist of different parts such as leaves, branches, trunk, and root. People can get benefits from all these parts. People can make furniture from trees' trucks. People also can produce medicine from trees' leaves and roots.

In short, trees are very important in our life for many reasons: they give us oxygen, food, wood and medicine. My advice to all people is to protect trees and to plant trees if they can.
